PCI DSS is a very important factor when a business or organization accepts credit cards for their products or services. In fact, being able to accept credit cards makes an organization more profitable in a world where credit cards and debit cards are the way to pay. Credit cards allow an organization to accept payments from different avenues aside from in person. A consumer can make a payment via credit card over the internet and even over the phone. This gives the organization more ways to bring in money and it makes accepting payments even more secure.

Other ways in which PCI DSS helps organizations is by:

• Protecting the customer's personal information in order to avoid disputes that could be costly to the organization.

• Make the customer confident that their transaction is a secure one.

• Protecting the organization from remediation costs and other financial losses.

• The organization is provided a check of their system every so often to make sure that the system they use to store and transmit their customer's data is not compromised in any way.

• Provides the organization with the trust of the customer and what it is the organization is offering.

Another thing to point out is the fact that PCI DSS continues to evolve as credit card fraud becomes more sophisticated. It is fair to say that any business that must store or transmit credit card data is a target of those wishing to access the personal information of customers for their own benefit. What happens is these thieves use the customer information to use their credit. However, PCI DSS stays up-to-date on the latest threats in order to keep the consumer information secure. This minimizes the risk involved with the organization accepting credit card payments and minimizes the risk to customers.

Business regulation

As stated before, PCI DSS keeps businesses up-to-date with the latest security updates to avoid their credit card systems from being breached. However, different organizations may have different requirements when it comes to PCI DSS. Let's take a grocery store, for instance. A grocery store is a point-of-sale transaction where credit card information does not have to be stored. The protection that PCI DSS offers is in the transmission of the data and not in data being stored since a grocery store has no reason to store credit card data.

An online store or organization, on the other hand, may store consumer data so that the consumer does not have to enter their payment information every single time they do a transaction. What this does is allows the customer to complete the transaction with a few clicks of the mouse instead of getting in their wallet and having to enter all of the information all over again. This is where PCI DSS can become especially important. If the system were to be breached, which is very rare, there could be millions of credit card numbers accessed. However, PCI DSS stays up on the most sophisticated methods that thieves use to access these credit card numbers in order to protect both the business and the consumer.

PCI DSS for better business

When a person knows that their information is secure, they are more likely to spend their money with those organizations that prove their security. Although PCI DSS compliance is mandatory for any business or organization that takes credit cards, not all consumers may know this. It is especially important for those consumers giving organizations such as an online organization the permission to store their credit card data for future transactions. It is very important that they know their information will not be accessed in any way.

What is a cheap graphics card I can buy to play Grand Theft Auto IV on?

I'm building a new PC, and the only game I will ever play on it (well, the most demanding game I'll ever play on it) is GTA IV. Other than that, it will be used for school and as a DVR. What is an inexpensive graphics card I can put in it? (I'm thinking PCI-E, and I don't really want to spend over $75 on it)

First of all, GTA IV is highly dependant on the CPU. If you do not have a duo core or anything higher than an AMD Athlon x2 5000+, then GTA IV will lag badly. The minmum requirement for a video card is an 8600GT though. And that would be in your price range, that is only for minimal graphic settings though.

If you want a good video card that's low in price, I'd recommend the the 9/8 Series from Geforce. To be more specific, the 8600GTS, the 9600GT or the 9800GT.

Which card really depends on you, obviously the 8600gts is the cheapest ($90 US) and fits in your price range.Obviously, you should expect lower graphical settings while playing games (Crysis would get a 30FPS avg. on a resolution of 1280x1024 on medium-high settings).

The 9600GT is a slight step above the 8600GTS and is 10 dollars more ($100 US). But the graphics go up too. I'd say that they're equal in performance/price.

Last but not least is the 9800GT. It's $120 US, but this video card can handle Crysis at it's highest settings (no AA, or AF though) at a resolution of 1920x1200 and get a stable 30-35 FPS.

So it's up to you. You'll pay the price for a good video card, and probably won't regret until a few years from now. But if you harsh out on the card because of the price, then you'll probably end up replacing again in a few months when more demanding games come out for the PC.

I would personally recommend the 9800GT 100%. That is, if you have at least a 400W PSU.
